QR (Quick Response) Codes can be scanned by most smart phones with the addition of a free reader app. or by using existing readers already included on most new smart phones.
1D Versus 2D
Traditional barcodes on consumer packaged products like UPC and EAN codes are one dimensional in nature. QR Codes are two‑dimensional barcodes that can contain a website address (which automatically uses phones web browser to pull up), an embedded video, or static info like a telephone number or virtual business card.
Mobile Marketing
Mobile marketing is internet based marketing where websites are created specifically for review on mobile phones. These mobile friendly “microsites” are easy to view, interact with via phone and can provide measurements for user click through & engagement.
Mobile users can click on a web address in an email they receive on their phone or click on a QR Code they see in print, on a sign, on a promo item or even from their computer screen.
